The majority of Royal Destiny members hail from Zimbabwe and some have their origins in South Africa. RD’s mission is to be a sanctuary of anointed worshippers who are committed to serve God & transform lives through music. The group sings inspirational songs of praise and worship. Founder members the two sisters Maria Rusike and Nonkumbulo Adonis said they have been singing from as far as they can remember. The two sisters were born into a Christian family and know no boundaries when it comes to the dissemination of the word of God. They believe music is a powerful tool that can be used to worship God and bring communities together. They released their debut album Yizani which became a huge success in 2009. In 2011 RDD released their second album uZuko and subsequently Lord I believe in 2014. The group is gifted with the ability to sing in several languages spoken across Southern Africa, such as SiNdebele, Shona, Xhosa, Zulu and of course the English language when belting out their highly vibrant and spiritually uplifting songs.
RD is diverse in that they have members in different countries such as United Kingdom and Zimbabwe at the moment. The group does not just comprise a band but individuals who are hungry and thirsty to fulfil their purpose through their God given gifts and talents. Co-Founder Maria Rusike said over the years we noticed that the music industry can be very challenging and that many can be easily discouraged in many ways. In 2015 they established the Mentoring Department where they nurture talent and support each other to grow spiritually in accordance with the word of God which is established in Mathew 6:63 that when we seek first God’s kingdom He will establish all the other things for us. They have also established a Charity Department where they support orphans mainly from Zimbabwe at the moment. In this she said they work jointly with other charitable organizations such as Ahava Love Ministries in the UK.
